BBIT announces launching of M. Tech. in Power Systems from the Department of Electrical Engineering
With great pleasure and pride, we announce a new M. Tech. course in Power Systems from our Department of Electrical Engineering (EE). This is a long awaited dream come true, because when we started our B. Tech. course in Electrical Engineering way back in 2009, we had the dream of opening an M. Tech. course from the EE Department.
The task was not easy, because we had to cross two tough hurdles: NAAC accreditation and NBA qualifier. Only a few institutes in the country have both these ‘feathers in their crown’.
BBIT was accredited with NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation in September, 2016. This was followed by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) accreditation for our B. Tech. programme in Electrical Engineering in April, 2017. These achievements motivated us to put in our effort for a post graduate programme in Electrical Engineering. Also the NBA accreditation made us eligible to go for an M. Tech. programme from our Electrical Engineering Department. We got approval for this course for 30 (thirty) students, both from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as (WBUT) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
From the academic session 2018-19, we are offering an M. Tech. programme in Power Systems. Students enrolling in this 2-year course will be able to enrich their knowledge in the domain of Power Systems in general.

Join intensive research programmes as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in different state as well as national level institutes. |

Join in R&D divisions in private as well as public sectors. |

Join in engineering colleges as faculties. |
|
Join in power sector companies or core companies where research and development are two strong components. |

We have two renowned senior Professors from University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University in our strong team of faculties. |

In all, we have four faculties with Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering. |

Rest of our faculty members are pursuing their Ph. D. research in different Universities. |

We have three (3) well equipped M. Tech. level laboratories for our course. This is in addition to eleven (11) undergraduate level support laboratories. |

Beyond curriculum we arrange special technical lectures regularly by eminent specialist speakers from industries and academia. |
